This video of King Cobra, the world’s longest venomous snake, spotted in India’s Himachal Pradesh has gone viral for good measure. The state’s forest department officials for the first time spotted this species of snake in the Sirmaur district, and it is one of the longest ever seen.
The reptile was seen slithering across the rock-strewn terrain of the Girinagar area of Paonta Sahib last week. Its movement was captured in a video that was posted on the internet.
This development has created a buzz on the internet and left netizens in both awe and shock. The forest department stated that it was the first time that a king cobra was sighted or documented in the state.
The snake was first spotted by a local resident, who clicked photos on his phone and sent them to the wildlife department. The forest department team visited the area and found traces of the presence of the reptile.
