Designed like a Sustainable Home, LAGO’s Good House is Fully Recyclable Exhibition Stand
For Salone del Mobile 2022, Italian furnishing brand LAGO has created a no waste, fully recyclable trade fair exhibition stand that reduces emissions by 87 percent
Milan Furniture Fair 2022, Salone del Mobile, is about to begin and many brands from across the globe are going to display their products. However, one thing that caught our eye is the recyclable exhibition stand by the Italian furnishing brand LAGO. Christened Good House, this stand, measuring over 800-meter-square, has been designed like a modern, sustainable home to promote ecological architecture.
The stand will become a member in the future editions of the Salone to promote the circular economy. With the idea of “open innovation,” the Good House project included Spinlife – a spin-off of the University of Padua and experts working to bring environmental sustainability into business – and Henoto, a BolognaFiere company specializing in trade fair stands.

Aiming to reform the traditional concept of a stand with sustainability in mind, the project focused on a zero-waste, lighter, and compacter build. Moreover, Good House lowers greenhouse gas emissions by up to 87 percent compared to typical trade fair exhibit stands. LAGO is emphasizing a scalable usage model through this project, which started research in 2014 and was brought to life in 2020 by Spinlife.
Professor Alessandro Manzardo from the University of Padua, said;
The aim of the research was to develop an eco-design model for trade fair stands to minimize the negative impact on the environment. This collaboration with Henoto and LAGO carries value beyond just this single project. If all the global trade fair stands were built using this approach, we could prevent up to 239,982 tons of CO2 equivalent being released in the atmosphere.

The Good House exhibition stand has been made of aluminum – one of the most reusable materials – and non-polluting recyclable fabric. This collaboration desires to work on such projects in the future with even greater interest and intensity.
According to Daniele Lago, CEO and Head of Design at LAGO, sustainability is a requirement for everyone, especially in business. We all must consider the impact of design on the natural environment. The Good House encourages a circular economy and zero-waste design that can help us reduce carbon emissions significantly.
