The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards has been bringing us heartwarming and adorably comical photographs from the wild and the winners of 2021 are definitely going to put a smile on your face. Founded in 2015, this annual contest allows wildlife photographers to share the joy and humor present in the animal kingdom.
Alike the previous editions, the contest received thousands of hilarious entries this year as well. However, British photographer Ken Jensen won the grand title for his appropriately titled photo “Ouch!” featuring a monkey sitting on a support wire. The animal showed signs of aggression but the impeccable timing of the shot gives it a totally different story.
Let’s see the entertaining images from the winners of the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2021.
“Ouch!” – Although this monkey is shouting in aggression, the perfect timing of the shot paints a completely different story.
A real David vs. Goliath story between this mighty Bald Eagle and tiny prairie dog, where the little guy escaped pretty quickly.
‘Well, I see the fall is here.’ – The bird was all set to take a flight when this leaf landed on its face.
‘It’s time for swimming lessons little one. May the Force be with you.’ This smooth-coated otter grabbed its young one to teach it swimming.
Little Twinkletoes – Two Kamchatka bear cubs are doing celebratory dance after successfully crossing a water stream.
Mudskippers – Seems like this trio is trying to see who can jump the highest. Mudskippers are known for their unusual appearance and their ability to survive both in and out of water.
‘Oops!’ This poor Bald Eagle was so tired from gathering twigs for his nest that he missed the landing and got struck in the face by this branch.
“The Green Stylist” – This highly-commended picture features an Indian Chameleon sitting on a twig.
“Tree Hugger” – Is this Proboscis monkey scratching its nose or kissing this tree?
Secret Whisperer – These little raccoon cubs seem to be having a secret-sharing soirée.
‘Missed it’ – Two Western Gray kangaroos are fighting and one missed kicking the other in the stomach.
“How do you get that damn window open?” – Appropriately titled, this picture features a raccoon who spends an awful lot of time trying to get this window opened.
‘Let’s play peekaboo’ – This young bear climbing down from a tree looks as if it was playing hide and seek.
These two playful gophers look like they are playing throw and catch. Well, doesn’t look that promising.
Titled “The Joy of Mud Bath,” this picture depicts the happiness of a young elephant as it takes a mud bath on the shores of Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe on a hot afternoon.
