Amid the chaos of coronavirus, nature is healing. Lack of pollution has made many mountains peaks visible from hundreds of kilometers away. Recently a tweet suggested that the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest is visible from a village in Bihar amidst coronavirus lockdown.

Residents of Singhwahini village in Bihar witnessed the magnificent view of Mount Everest from their homes. According to Google Maps, the distance between the Singhwahini village and Mt. Everest is 190 km. Due to no industrial activity and minimal traffic, Air Quality Index across the country has improved with a decrease in pollution.
The images of Mt Everest were shared by Ritu Jaiswal who is the Mukhiya of Gram Panchayat Singhwahini.

He shared a local newspaper report which quotes the elder of the village as claiming that the range visible now due to lack of pollution used to be visible decades ago when the state was not cluttered with activities.
Last month, Jalandhar residents were able to see Himachal Pradesh’s Dhauladhar range while recently, snow peaks were visible from Saharanpur as well.
