Queen’s Solar Education Centre (QSEC) are brewing up for the Decathlon in 2013 and they arrived on capus in the month of September for practice for Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon. Althouth they haven’t qualified for the Decathlon but they are to making the cut through. The challenge is to build and operate a solar-powered house which is cost-effective, sustainable and looks good too. The main components of the house are going to be PV panels, solar thermal rays and smart lines. The catch however being that the house has to be build in under the budget of $250,000.
